Man City Transfers: 5 Players Manuel Pellegrini Needs To Sign To Avoid Crisis

3. Robert Lewandowski

Lewandowski With Mario Balotelli and Carlos Tevez now gone, Pellegrini needs to sign at least two new strikers to replace them. Edin Dzeko will likely continue as an impact substitution under the Chilean manager next season which leaves Sergio Aguero as the sole breadwinner. Manchester United proved last season that having four strikers is advantageous as they won the league thanks to the firepower of Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez and if City have a quartet of forwards to pick from next season they will stand a much better chance of retaining the title. One forward who could play up front with Aguero next season is Borussia Dortmund's Robert Lewandowski. The Polish international was in unstoppable form last season, banging in 36 goals in 48 overall appearances and 10 in Europe as he helped fire his side to the Champions League final. But he looks almost certain to quit the Westfalenstadion this summer with both Manchester clubs as well as Bayern Munich thought to be interested in the 24-year-old. The latter are favourites however Dortmund appear to have ruled out the prospect of selling to their Bundesliga rivals, seemingly putting both Manchester clubs back in the frame.
