Man City vs Man Utd - 5 Reasons Why Red Devils Will Win

5. Wayne Rooney

A revitalised Wayne Rooney has found some form since his head injury kept him out of the recent international break. During the summer, it seemed all but certain that Rooney was intent on leaving Old Trafford for good, with Chelsea seeming the most likely of destination for the want-away striker. Unfortunately for Rooney, Moyes stood resolute on his insistence not to let the Englishman leave and it seems to have paid off for both parties. Wayne Rooney has scored 3 goals in his last 2 games. After scoring a free-kick to double United's lead on Saturday, he went on to score two in midweek against Bayer Leverkusen. His first came as he swept in a Patrice Evra cross and his second was a slick finish to mark his 200th goal in United colours - as he became only the fourth player to ever score 200 goals for Manchester United. The rejuvenation of Wayne Rooney has aided Manchester United significantly and he has been easily their most dangerous player over the last two games. If he can continue the impressive form that has seen him help lift United to two consecutive wins, he may just be able to help them to a third, against their arch rivals.
