Man City vs Man Utd: Where The Game Will Be Won & Lost
In The Dugout
As City fans will tell you, David Moyes seems to have developed a formula for success against City. His Everton side were a constant thorn in City's side, which begs the question: does Moyes just know how to play against City? Given that the players Moyes formerly had at his disposal on Merseyside, if this game were not a derby it would be reasonable to assume that he may find playing City a tad easier with United's talent. Tactically neither side will want to be outnumbered in the middle of the park, and with United likely to play three in the middle it will be interesting to see what Pellegrini does. Both managers can really endear themselves to the fans so early in their respective tenures with a positive result, but as City are at home, the onus lies with Pellegrini to set his side up for the win. If the Chilean fails to match United's three in the middle of the park man for man however, City face the possibility of being overrun. It will be compelling viewing to see how both managers line up their sides in this derby. While Moyes may get away with fielding a side that is difficult to beat and relies on the counter-attack, City's fans will expect their side to take the initiative in the game and go out on the attack.
