1. Wayne Rooney
Manchester United campaigns are different year in year out, but one thing that never changes is the presence of a key player. The 26-year-old English striker has been a key man at Old Trafford since his arrival in 2004. Rooney on average plays 30 league games a season and has scored some of Uniteds most important goals in the clubs history. His attacking mentality has somewhat increased in the last few seasons, his 27 league goals last season was proof of his clinical finishing. He can change games in an instant and without Rooney on form; Sir Alexs men may struggle. The addition of Welbeck and Hernandez to the squad some years ago have proved to be useful for the red devils but their performances are still shadowed by Uniteds number 10.
