Man Utd: 5 Potential Clubs For Nemanja Vidic To Join In The Summer

At midnight last night, Manchester United released a press statement from captain Nemanja Vidic revealing that he will be leaving the club this summer when his contract expires. This puts an end to his Old Trafford career after eight years, a spell in which he won 15 trophies including the Champions League in the 2007-08 season. A number of top clubs have been linked with the Serbian, but he has ruled out playing for any other Premier League club as a mark of respect for United.
"I'm not considering staying in England as the only club I ever wanted to play for here is Manchester United and I was lucky enough to be part of this club for so many years. I've got a few options to move on and I will choose the right one for me and for my family." (transcribed by Telegraph)
Vidic is currently in the last year of his contract at the club, and has struggled to find game time under new manager David Moyes. Though he has struggled with a number of injury setbacks, this can also be attributed to Moyes' strategy of bringing in fresh, new players and integrating a younger team. It is rumoured that the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra will follow suit. This article will look at five potential clubs for Nemanja Vidic to join this summer, some who have been linked to his services diligently, and others that simply seem like a good match for the Serbian.
