2. Inability To Step Out Of Cristiano Ronaldo's Shadow
In a way, Man United fans can shoulder some of the blame for Nani's poor performances in Red since his move to Old Trafford in 2007. So much was expected of him when he moved from Portugal - perhaps too much. He was billed as the next "Cristiano Ronaldo", and had massive shoes to step into when the former Ballon d'Or winner left for Real Madrid in 2009. To be frank, the only two things Nani has in common with his former teammate is that he was born in Portugal and plays on the wing, and there the similarities end. He has never stepped out of Ronaldo's looming shadow at Old Trafford and has always failed to live up to the hype built up for him by the fans. Perhaps if he was given more of a chance to just be "Nani" instead of the next Ronaldo, things may have been different...
