2. Scoring Against Arsenal In the FA Cup Semi-Final - 1999
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnTbS3_Ox3E Much like their victories in the Premier and Champions League in 1999, glory in the FA Cup was also far from easy, despite a comfortable 2-0 win over Newcastle United in the final. In the semi-finals, United first had to overcome Arsene Wenger's Arsenal, who, like Ferguson's side, were chasing a league and FA Cup double. The two heavyweights blew hot and cold in a tepid 0-0 draw at Villa Park and the tie - before the days of extra-time and penalties at this stage of the competition - went to a replay. Many remember the 1999 FA Cup Semi-Final for one goal and one goal in particular, that of Ryan Giggs when the Welshman went on a bending run turning the Gunners' defence inside out before belting the ball past David Seaman to clinch a 2-1 win, but the first of United's goals that day was also a cracker, if not overlooked. Yeah, you guessed it, David Beckham put his side into a 1-0 lead with a wonderfully taken curling drive from the edge of the penalty area. It was a goal worthy of winning any FA Cup semi-final but the heroics of Giggs were called upon following Dennis Bergkamp's 69th minute equaliser.
