David de Gea is one of the first names on the Manchester United team-sheet as the club's undisputed No.1 goalkeeper. The young Spaniard made a shaky start to life at Old Trafford after arriving from Atletico Madrid in 2011, with many calling into question his lack of physical prowess and wondering if he could cut it in the Premier League. De Gea was guilty of a series of mistakes and gaffes early on in his career but he has since bounced back in style with a series of assured performances, to the point that he was named in the Premier League PFA Team of the Year for 201213, while his save to deny Emanuele Giaccherini during a 21 away win over Sunderland on 5 October last year was described by legendary Red Devil stopper Peter Schmeichel, as one of the best saves he'd ever seen in the Premier League era. The 23-year-old is now entering his fourth season at United and will once again be the club's No.1 ahead of the likes of Anders Lindegaard and Ben Amos.
