Man Utd Transfer News: Fellaini Deal Confirmed, Coentrao Loan Incoming

According to the Telegraph, Manchester United have finally got their man, as Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini has joined the club for a reported fee between £26-£28 million. The confirmation finally ends the summer long saga surrounding the player, and gives Manchester United fans the marquee signing they have been calling for all summer. Fellaini will join up with his new side after the international break. Everton are still waiting to confirm the signings of James McCarthy from Wigan, having signed Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry, and Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, who has joined on loan for the season, snubbing a move back to West Brom. This day's business represents good work by Everton, though the outgoing deal for Fellaini could well have derailed the team had Roberto Martinez not been able to bring in replacements, even if his chairman claims the deal wasn't dependent on that deal. United have also been linked with a very late move for Fabio Coentrao of Real Madrid, with news expected of the loan deal in the coming minutes. He would represent an alternative to Leighton Baines, who had been linked with a big money move to United throughout the summer, before the news trail went cold earlier in the day, with Everton seemingly reluctant to sell.
