Man Utd Transfers: 10 More Players Louis van Gaal MUST Sign Before Deadline Day

10. Wesley Sneijder

Manchester United have a long-standing interest in Wesley Sneijder that can be traced back to the Sir Alex Ferguson administration, with the midfielder on United's radar since 2010. And that interest hasn't died off, apparently, with reports from as recently as last month linking the Netherlands star with a switch to Old Trafford. Sneijder - currently at Turkish side Galatasaray - is reported to have a buy-out clause of just £16 million and Gala president Unal Aysal admitted recently that he would be powerless to stand in the player's way should United be willing to pay that fee this summer, saying: "If Galatasaray receive an offer of ‚20 million, we do not have the luxury of saying no. That is stipulated in the contract.
"All I can say is that if any club pays us ‚20 million and he wants to go, we can't force him to stay because it is written in the contract."
Sneijder may be 30 and at the top end of the age spectrum United use to sign players, but if he's available for as little as £16 million the Red Devils would be wise to snap him up before deadline day. Their midfield is desperately short of creativity at present and Sneijder's sublime passing abilities would add a spark to their engine room. Manager Louis van Gaal knows him well from his days managing the Dutch national team and could yet make a shock move for the Oranje maestro.
