Man Utd Transfers: 10 More Players Louis van Gaal MUST Sign Before Deadline Day
5. Marco Reus
One final central-midfield star Louis van Gaal has to try to sign at Manchester United before Monday's transfer deadline day is Marco Reus. One of United's biggest concerns this summer is in the middle of the park and the attacking midfielder would certainly add a bit of magic to this area. Reus enjoyed a phenomenal season with Borussia Dortmund in 2013-14, scoring 16 league goals, and as such was named as his club's Player of the Year for 2014. He was also the Bundesliga's top assist maker with 14 and his creativity would go a long way to solving some of United's problems as the Reds have looked lethargic in midfield this season and short of ideas. Despite his recent performances, Reus is valued at just £25 million, and has stalled on signing a new contract at the German side, which should encourage United. Arsenal and Real Madrid are also keen however, though Reus's versatility makes him a target van Gaal simply cannot ignore. Also capable of playing out wide on the wing, the 25-year-old's acquisition would solve another problem for United in that, excepting new signing Angel Di Maria, they have very little quality on the flanks with Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia ineffectual and Nani and Wilfried Zaha out on loan at Sporting Lisbon and Crystal Palace, respectively.
