Man Utd Transfers: 10 Signings To Save Louis Van Gaal's Summer
6. Fredy Guarin
With defence taken care of, next we move on to central midfield. Manchester United would benefit from signing one more midfielder this summer and one option is Fredy Guarin. Guarin is reportedly on van Gaal's radar this summer and the Dutchman considers him an alternative to Arturo Vidal, who he has been chasing over the past month to fruitless results so far. Inter Milan are thought to be prepared to listen to offers for the 28-year-old this summer as they are looking to make space in their midfield for Jonathan Biabiany, who has been tipped to join the San Siro side from Parma. If the Milanese club are willing to sell this summer, Guarin would be a more-than suitable alternative to Vidal. The ambidextrous attacker can shoot from long range with both feet and can play from the middle or right side of midfield, and can also operate as a playmaker. Guarin impressed during his playing days in Portugal in particular where he won ten major titles between 2008-12, including three national championships and the 2011 Europa League with Porto. At Inter, the midfielder scored four goals and provided six assists last season, and has all the tools at his disposal necessary to be a success at Old Trafford.
