Guarin is reportedly on van Gaal's radar this summer and the Dutchman considers him an alternative to Arturo Vidal, who he has been chasing over the past month to fruitless results so far. The ambidextrous attacker can shoot from long range with both feet and can play from the middle or right side of midfield, and can also operate as a playmaker. Guarin impressed during his playing days in Portugal in particular where he won ten major titles between 2008-12, including three national championships and the 2011 Europa League with Porto. At Inter, the midfielder scored four goals and provided six assists last season, and has all the tools at his disposal necessary to be a success at Old Trafford.
