Newcastle United's unsettled star Yohan Cabaye put Manchester United on alert last summer by claiming he would be open to a move to Old Trafford. And now, with his long-term future hanging in the balance, United could make another attempt to poach him away from St James' Park and improve their midfield. Cabaye went on strike last summer when a £10 million move to Arsenal was denied while he has again been tipped to quit the north east this year with Paris Saint-Germain keen. Any transfer could depend on the Magpies' success in signing French midfielder Remy Cabella, with Alan Pardew not prepared to sanction Cabaye's sale until he has an adequate replacement. And if he does land Cabella, that could well leave the door open for United to make their move. Cabaye was one of Newcastle's best players last season and his excellent vision for a pass, technical qualities and ability to play box-to-box make him ideal for the Red Devils.
