While we've listed five midfield targets so far, all of them pale into comparison to Arturo Vidal, who would be the dreamiest of dream signings should he arrive at Manchester United before Monday's transfer deadline day. It seems as though United's pursuit of Vidal has been rumbling on forever with the Juventus man linked with the club all summer and supporters will be crossing their fingers and toes that something comes to fruition before the end of the weekend. A box-to-box midfielder renowned for his tough tackling and tenacious style of play, Vidal has the nickname Il Guerriero ("The Warrior") among the Italian press due to his combative attitude and penchant to take no prisoners. For those reasons he is very similar to the legendary Roy Keane and would certainly add some much-needed steel to United's flimsy side. There is one major concern that comes with signing Vidal however, that being his worrying injury record. The South American has a dodgy knee and hasn't played 90 minutes since undergoing an operation to repair his meniscus before the World Cup. That would make a move this summer something of a gamble, especially considering he's worth a reported £34 million, but when he's fit he's one of the best players in the world.
