Man Utd Transfers: 5 Essential Summer Targets For David Moyes

1. Marouane Fellaini

A list like this one would usually conclude by mentioning a striker or two, but in United's case, buying in a new forward isn't necessary, even if Wayne Rooney does quit the club. With attacking options such as Shinji Kagawa coupled with the creativity Strootman could potentially bring to the side, along with the continued presence of Javier Hernandez, Danny Welbeck and Robin van Persie, buying a new striker should not be at the top of David Moyes' agenda. Instead he should focus all his efforts on convincing Marouane Fellaini to join him in quitting Everton and moving to Manchester. Fellaini is a player that Moyes knows inside-out and has worked extensively with in the past, and the powerful Belgian international€™s signing certainly isn't beyond the realms of possibility. It is understood the player has a buy-out clause inserted in the contract he signed back in 2011 which could be triggered by a bid of £22 million and United would be wise to activate it. This season has seen Fellaini move into a more attacking role and with devastating effect, too. He's scored 11 Premier League goals this season and would offer United something completely different to their current forwards. In summary, when David Moyes takes charge on July 1, he should look at improving United's midfield more than anything else and also look into buying in one or two new defenders. By doing so, he would be giving himself the best chance possible of being an instant success as Manchester United manager. Who do you think David Moyes should sign this summer?
