Man Utd Transfers: 5 Greatest Foreign Imports

3. Nemanja VidicVidic Appearances: 264 Goals: 19 The current United captain, Nemanja Vidic has been at the heart of United's success for the best part of the last decade. He has forged a fantastic understanding with Rio Ferdinand at the centre of United's defence, complementing Rio's elegant, assured style of play with his no nonsense approach. A partnership that, when both fully fit, has always produced success. The greatest of Vidic's attributes is undoubtedly the fact that he wears his heart on his sleeve and continuously puts his body on the line for the good of the club. While certain foreign players are accused of not caring, or playing for themselves, Vidic always puts the club first and has a very British attitude towards the game. Unlike certain 'fancy Dans' from abroad, Vidic flies into tackles and puts his head where others would not put their feet. He is often the reason that United are able to grind out results at grounds such as the Reebok, Upton Park or the Britannia, where Vidic stands up to battering's from physical centre-forwards. Hopefully his ultra-professional attitude and his love for the club will rub off on the youngsters in training, as seems to be the case, so that his eventual departure will be less of a heavy blow to take.
