Have we time yet for one final twist to the January transfer window? Toni Kroos to Manchester United would be the equivalent of Arsenal's capture of Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid last summer and would blow all other deals out of the water. United have been linked with a move for Bayern Munich's Kroos this month and speculation that the champions could make an offer intensified when it was discovered David Moyes went on a scouting expedition to Germany last week. There may appear very little time for a move of this magnitude to come off, but as Bayern manager Pep Guardiola said recently:
He is an important player but things can move fast in football. Here today, gone tomorrow.
