Man Utd Transfers: 5 Left-Backs David Moyes Must Consider Before Window Closes
5. Alexander Buttner
With Fabio having joined Cardiff City in a permanent deal, the one remaining successor to Patrice Evra at Manchester United is Alexander Buttner. Buttner has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this month with Tottenham and Galatasaray both thought to be keen, but the Netherlands international wants to stay. The 24-year-old has occasionally found it difficult to settle at United since joining from Vitesse in 2012, but showed signs of his quality earlier this month against Swansea in the FA Cup. And with Evra set to bid farewell when his contract expires this summer and return to Monaco, Moyes may consider putting his faith in Buttner this month ahead of dipping into the market. The remainder of the campaign could well serve as an acid test for Buttner and his capabilities to step into Evra's shoes, and it will be interesting to see where he fits into Moyes's plans.
