Along the same lines as Gundogan is Juventus midfielder Marchisio. The Turin native has been on the books at the Old Lady since he was seven years old. A loan spell at Empoli in 2007-08 apart, Juve is all Marchisio has ever known in club football. At 27 he is entering his prime and would be a cultured presence in the middle of the park for United. Marchisio's versatility would be more virtue than hindrance under Moyes as it would free Phil Jones up to play at centre back.
