Another midfield option for Moyes is Thiago Alcantara of Barcelona. The Premier League champions have
reportedly agreed personal terms with the player on a five-year-deal, with just a fee left to be agreed. And that's where it gets even better for United. Thiago, who excelled in this summer's U21 European Championships for Spain, scoring a hat-trick in the final, has a release clause of £77 million, which has been temporarily reduced to just £15 million because the youngster only made first-team appearances in 60 per cent of matches last season. And that technicality would allow Moyes to sign the 22-year old for a knock-down fee - but only up until August, at which point the huge £77 million release clause comes back into force, meaning he will have to act quick if he is to land one of Europe's hottest young stars. There's little questioning the Spaniard would improve United's midfield, and at £15 million could already be the bargain-buy of next season.
