Man Utd Transfers: 5 Reasons Why Cristiano Ronaldo Must Return

5. Real Madrid Treat Him Like Dirt

Perez Considering Ronaldo is indisputably the second greatest player on the planet today, (sorry Gareth Bale fans) you'd think his club would treat him a little better. Yesterday however, we reported that Real are putting 40% of the player's individual endorsements in their back pockets, meaning Ronaldo is essentially paying the club more out of his own pocket than he actually receives in wages. This is a total lack of respect and there are suspicions that the Spanish Champions are using one of the most marketable players in club football as nothing more than a cash cow. Ronaldo himself is understood to believe the club should be taking less of a cut from his personal endorsements, but Real are unwilling to budge on their stance, leaving the player contemplating his future at the club. Ronaldo was also dismayed by the total lack of support his club provided him with at this year's Ballon d'Or awards - whilst a huge delegation was sent from Barcelona to represent the club's nominees at the awards, Madrid only sent Emilio ButragueƱo and Pedro Lopez. Considering how much the Ballon d'Or means to the player, this was a further example of a total lack of respect shown by club president Florentino Perez (above).
