Man Utd Transfers: 5 Reasons Why Cristiano Ronaldo Won't Return To Old Trafford

1. The Future Of Sir Alex Ferguson

Fergie Ronaldo spent six seasons at United and improved immensely under Sir Alex Ferguson's tutelage after joining from Sporting Lisbon. Ever since he departed for Real Madrid, he identified Ferguson as the man who helped mould him as a world-class player and even referred to him as a "father figure". Just before leaving for Real, Ronaldo told the BBC in 2009:
"He's been my father in sport, one of the most important factors and most influential in my career. "I have to thank him for all that he taught me. He's been fundamental. I'll always have great affection for him and he will occupy a special place in my heart."
Any potential move to United lies with the nostalgia that would come with playing under Ferguson once more, but with the veteran Scot now 71, there are no guarantees that he will still be at the Old Trafford helm come 2015. Would Ronaldo be as keen to return to United if they were under the management of someone like David Moyes, of whom the player has no emotional attachment too? It's unlikely, and United fans should certainly savour the sight of their former hero gracing the Theatre of Dreams tomorrow, because he may never return. What do you think? Is there any chance of Ronaldo returning full time to Man United? Let us know in the comment section below.
