2. Services Not Needed

As I have already touched upon, Falcao's services at Old Trafford are simply not needed. Yes, the Colombian has been in free-scoring form of late and there's no doubting his pedigree or ability to play at the very highest levels of the game, but United have a team already bursting at the seams with attacking talents. Rooney, Hernandez, Van Persie, Welbeck, Zaha, Nani, Valencia, Young, Kagawa, Cleverley, need I go on? The simple fact of the matter is that Ferguson simply doesn't need a Falcao in his side, not when he has such prolific marksmen as it is in Van Persie and Rooney. It is the likes of Chelsea and Man City who need Falcao's services the most. The Blues need a replacement for the misfiring Fernando Torres and the equally as disappointing Demba Ba, while City haven't replaced Mario Balotelli, something which they surely will in the summer, especially if Dzeko moves on, as expected. £50 million is also a huge gamble on just one player, and if Ferguson actually has that sort of cash at his disposal, he should invest it in other areas of the pitch where replacements are actually needed...
