Man Utd Transfers: 5 Reasons Why The Reds Must Sign Robert Lewandowski

5. Bayern Munich Have Signed Mario Gotze

Gotze This might strike you as an odd reason, but hear me out. Manchester United now have a distinct advantage in the battle to sign Robert Lewandowski primarily because Bayern Munich signed Mario Gotze for £31 million from Borussia Dortmund last week. Dortmund would be far from willing to sell their closest rivals yet another of their star players in Lewandowski, meaning you can all but rule Bayern out of the running to sign the Polish star. That's one less hurdle for United to jump in the race for the goal machine's signature, and but one reason why they must now be favourites to land the star. Sir Alex Ferguson admitted his side have an advantage in the battle for Lewandowski and stated:
"I am not sure Lewandowski will be sold to Bayern now. The Dortmund fans are not going to be happy and I don't think they will sell to their main rivals."
Over to you, then, United.
