3. David Moyes Knows And Understands Him
If Rooney should be managed by any man, it's David Moyes. He's the manager that wasn't afraid to take a punt on a 16-year-old Rooney in the Premier League for Everton; a move which catapulted Rooney into the Premier League spotlight and ensured an early move to Manchester United. He knows Rooney better than any manager in England, save the retired Alex Ferguson, and it's hard to imagine Rooney will be unhappy with him come the start of the season, when he's playing games. Also, Moyes has a reputation as a shrewd man-manager who listens to his players. Rooney is unlikely to have the opportunity to be as influential at any of the other top clubs in England. Moyes is also a stable operator, who has worked with countless difficult players, most notably goalkeeper Tim Howard, who is a sufferer of Tourette's Syndrome. He is the ideal manager to work with a player like Rooney, whose sense of self-worth
appears to need constant re-affirmation. On the flip side of the coin, it's not a stretch to imagine Mourinho and Rooney, two strong characters, coming to blows before long.
