Man Utd Transfers: 5 Replacements For David de Gea

1. Asmir Begovic

Stoke City's Asmir Begovic has nine clean sheets to his name so far this season and is one of the most in form goalkeeper in the Premier League. It is perhaps little wonder than that he has appeared on the radar of Sir Alex Ferguson, who is said to be plotting an £8million raid for the Bosnian. Begovic still has three and a half years left on his contract at Stoke however, and manager Tony Pulis would clearly be unwilling to part ways with his prized asset, at least not until the Summer, anyway. Any such move for Begovic might not necessarily signal the end of David de Gea's career at Man United - rather, it could be the death-knell for Anders Lindegaard. If such a deal were to go through, Begovic would likely be No 1 at Old Trafford with de Gea acting as understudy until he improves his game, pushing Lindegaard further still down the pecking order.
