4. Karim Benzema
Karim Benzema hasn't been quite as prolific for Real Madrid this season as he was in 2011/12. He has scored 11 times and provided 12 assists so far this season which rather pales into comparison to his 32 goals in 52 appearances the season before. But he is still a remarkable player, and the Frenchman admitted last July that Sir Alex Ferguson had been chasing his signature for the last four years, before he joined Real Madrid from Lyon in 2009.* However, he has spent much of his time on the bench at the Bernabeu this season, playing second fiddle to the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo.
