2. Arda Turan

As well as a new central midfielder, United also need at least two new wingers this winter. Ashley Young was the worst player on the pitch in the capitulation against Manchester City last month and hasn't played a game since, while Antonio Valencia has been off the pace for the past 12 months now. Meanwhile, Nani continues to frustrate while rookie Wilfried Zaha is set to be
farmed out on loan to gain more regular first team football. That all leaves United looking pretty lightweight in the wide areas and one player who could help in those regards is Atletico Madrid's Arda Turan. The Turkey international was part of Atletico's Copa del Rey-winning side last season and has been on the Red Devil's radar for quite some time now. The English champions
reportedly made a bid for Turan on transfer deadline day this summer but, as with most targets, failed in their pursuits. However, the player's agent, Ahmet Bulut, has recently been quoted as saying:
"Atletico Madrid do not want to sell Arda however, if his 24 million minimum-fee release clause is activated the club will have to listen to offers. "A transfer to England is likely."
