Man Utd Transfers: 7 Things You Need To Know About Falcao

6. He Was Ranked 6th In The Guardian's Best 100 Footballers In The World

Stating the obvious a little bit but one thing Manchester United fans need to know about Radamel Falcao is that he's pretty good. In 2013, the Guardian newspaper ranked him as the 6th best player in the world, with only the usual suspects of Lionel Messi, Cristiano, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Zlatan Ibrahimovic coming ahead of the Colombian. Interestingly, the Guardian put Falcao 25 places ahead of his new teammate Wayne Rooney and one place ahead of Robin van Persie. The newspaper also consider the South American to be a better player than Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and Eden Hazard, based on their collective performances as of last year. The Guardian aren't the only ones to hold Falcao in such high esteem. Former England and Juventus manager Fabio Capello once said he thought Falcao was "just as impressive as Lionel Messi". Capello commented in 2012:
"Throughout my entire career, there has been only one player who impressed me as much as Messi when I first saw him against my Juventus at the Joan Gamper trophy, and that is Radamel Falcao."
