Man Utd Transfers: Predicting Louis van Gaal's First 10 Signings

1. Edinson Cavani

Considering the injury woes that have beset star man Robin van Persie this season, it might be wise for us to bring in one more centre-forward over the summer. Danny Welbeck continues to run hot and cold while Javier Hernandez might be packing his bags in search of more regular playing time, which would leave us distinctly short on firepower. We have struggled in the time van Persie has been injured this season, relying too much on Wayne Rooney for goals and one more quality striker would undoubtedly help us in the goal-scoring department. Edinson Cavani would be a dream signing - having scored 25 goals in all competitions last season, he is one of the hottest properties in European football and has hinted at unrest at current club Paris Saint-Germain. Cavani is reportedly dissatisfied that he is being shunted out on the wing in Laurent Blanc's 4-3-3 formation and wants to play as a natural striker, and if that offer is not on the table at the Parc des Princes, we should go all out to secure the prolific goal-machine's services. Cavani has netted more than 20 goals a season in each of his last four campaigns for both former club Napoli and PSG, and would rival Liverpool's Luis Suarez and Man City's Sergio Aguero when it comes to the goals-scored tally, which could, crucially, give us the edge next season in reasserting our dominance of English football.
