Man Utd Transfers: Predicting Louis van Gaal's First 10 Signings

4. Arjen Robben

Another Netherlands star who could be packing his bags for Manchester is Arjen Robben, who is being lined up as one of van Gaal's first transfer targets as Manchester United manager. Robben plays under van Gaal for the Dutch national side and the pair even spent time together at Bayern between 2009-11, and could link up again in Manchester from next season. Following Bayern's disastrous Champions League exit at the hands of Real Madrid, the German champions might look to offload the 30-year-old as they look to re-build, providing us with an opportunity to take advantage and make an offer. We would likely have to bid around £25 million to secure the winger's services, but given our current widemen are woefully out of form, it would be money well spent, regardless of Robben's advancing years. Fans might not take to Robben immediately considering he used to play for our rivals Chelsea, and helped knock us out of the Champions League last season, but his high energy levels, work rate and goal-scoring - he netted 11 Bundesliga goals last term - should mean that might not last long.
