Man Utd vs Real Madrid - 5 Reasons Why Los Blancos Are In Decline

1. They Haven't Won The Champions League In A Decade

RealMadrid If you ever happen to find yourself standing in Real Madrid's glittering trophy room (above), your attention will be immediately snared by the 9 European Cup/Champions League trophies sitting proudly on display. That right there is a record - no team has ever won more European Cups than Madrid. But that's ancient history. The last time they won the Champions League was in 2002, when they saw off Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 at Hampden Park in Glasgow. Since then, they haven't come close to winning a tenth crown. All this talk of Real Madrid being an imperious force in the Champions League due to their impeccably illustrious past in the competition is a redundancy. It's what a team has won in recent years that counts, and Madrid simply have not performed in this tournament for a decade now. What do you think? Are Real Madrid a spent force or is it foolish to write them off so readily? Who do you think will win? Share your thoughts in the comment section, below.
