David Silva has been awarded the Barclays Premier League Man of the Match Award for September, becoming the second Man City player to have won the award in a row after striker Edin Dzeko won it in August. Silva has played in all seven of Manchester City's Premier League matches so far this season and has contributed with two goals, one coming on the opening day of the season, and five assists. With ten games not even being played yet Silva has already been rumoured to win the Premier League 2011-2012 Player of the Season. Not just Man City fans but neutrals have been blown away by the Spaniard's magnificant displays since his arrival in Manchester last year, but especially this term. Not only has the former Valencia playmaker been in terrific form for club but also for country. He's helped Spain finish top of their group in the Euro 2012 qualifiers over the past couple of months and recently netted twice against Scotland in a game where Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish listed him as "simply class". Let's hope David can keep up his brilliant form and who knows - he may well be picking up this award again this season or even the big Player of the Season.
