Manchester United: 10 Strikers Who Can Succeed Where Falcao Failed
1. Harry Kane
Step forward, the man of the hour. Harry Kane, the hurricane.
He's been absolutely exceptional for Tottenham all season, scoring left, right and centre at near enough every opportunity, and ended up as the Premier League's second top scorer, with 21 goals, and was the top-scoring Englishman, ahead of Austin (18), Berahino (14), and Rooney (12).
Manchester United are one of the few top sides with a real core of English players, with Smalling, Jones, Carrick, Rooney, Young and Shaw all starters when they have been fit this season. It wouldn't take Kane long to fit in, as he has already played alongside many of them before as part of the England set up.
Levy doesn't like selling his best players to Manchester United, but has done so numerous times in the past, with Carrick and Berbatov prime examples. It would take a big bid to tempt the Spurs owner to sell, but it could be done.
The only stumbling block would be Kane himself. He's a huge Tottenham fan, and he loves playing for his childhood club. Can Manchester United win over Kane where they failed to win over Shearer nearly 20 years ago? That remains to be seen, but if United want to show they mean business this season, they could do worse than splash out on this wonderful young talent.
