Man Utd Transfers: 6 Signings Fergie Must Push Through This Summer

1. Asmir Begovic

BegovicClub: Stoke City Question marks remain over Spanish 'keeper David De Gea, with his form suffering at times this season, and Sir Alex Ferguson should push through a deal to bring in another Premier league quality goalkeeper in the summer, if only in order to add some pressure to De Gea's position that might force a pick-up in form. It might be somewhat atypical these days for Premier League sides to have two top quality goalkeepers - who could both start - but at the minute United's back-up choices are not good enough for the club, and De Gea is arguably too comfortable as the number one. And with those doubts remaining over the Spaniard's form - and unfavourable parallels being drawn with Massimo Taibi from some quarters (including from the United misfit himself), the summer should see a move for a goalkeeping target. Begovic might have welcomed the forthcoming signing of Jack Butland, but both players can't start as the first choice 'keeper at Stoke, and Begovic could well look elsewhere, especially with rumoured interest from Sir Alex after a very good season.
