Montenegro vs England: 5 Threats Hodgson Must Overcome

4. Complacency

Complacency has undoubtedly been England€™s biggest opponent so far in this qualification campaign. Yes they rolled over a distinctly average San Marino side, but two draws against Poland and Ukraine are simply not good enough. Those draws have cost the Three Lions dearly, and defeat tonight would see them slip 5 points behind Montenegro €“ meaning the Montenegrins could afford to lose at Wembley and still top the group. This is not the first time England has made hard work of a seemingly easy qualification group. Fans will still remember the disappointment of not reaching USA 94 and memories of that rainy defeat to Croatia in 2007 still linger in the back of people€™s minds. If Hodgson€™s side want to reach Rio 2014 they must go into tonight€™s fixture fully focused on the job at hand, any complacency and it could spell disaster for England€™s qualification campaign.
