4. Avram Grant

When Avram Grant was appointed the new manager of Chelsea following the departure of the popular Jose Mourinho in 2007, it did not go down well at all with the Stamford Bridge faithful. Coupled with the fact that many were distraught that a man who had delivered so much success to Chelsea had been kicked out so unceremoniously, many eyebrows were also raised by the fact that the Israeli didn't hold a top-flight coaching certificate, leading many to question if he was even qualified to do the job in the first place.* But lest we forget, Grant led Chelsea to the Champions League Final in 2008 against Manchester United and came within one John Terry penalty away from glory. Had Chelsea won the Champions League that year, he may even have stayed in his job. He is currently a free agent these days having activated a release clause in his contract with Partizan Belgrade after guiding them to their fifth consecutive league title.** Source(s): *
