Newcastle 2014-15 Season Review - 6 Best (And 6 Worst) NUFC Performances

4. West Bromwich Albion 0-2 Newcastle United (Premier League - November 9th, 2014)

They had waited seven games for that first victory in the Premier League - then five came along in a row, during a six-game winning streak across all competitions. The 2-0 victory against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns in November was probably Newcastle's best all-round performance of the campaign, with the Magpies controlling the game from start to finish. Although they didn't score until right on half-time, Newcastle dominated the first-half - and a majestic piece of skill from Ayoze Perez brought the opening goal and was the highlight of an impressive first season in England for the Spaniard. After controlling possession, Newcastle spread the ball to the right for Daryl Janmaat to whip in a low cross - which Perez then allowed to go behind him before he cheekily flicked the ball with the in-step of his right foot across the keeper and into the net. Undoubtedly Newcastle's goal of the season. The victory margin could and should have been greater than two goals - but Fabricio Coloccini's header just after the hour mark saw Newcastle record a 2-0 victory and a rare clean sheet.
