On his Coventry City debut, the 18-year-old forward bagged a magnificent brace, played the entire match and fired the Sky Blues to a 2-0 win over recently-relegated Wigan Athletic. His first goal came on the quarter-hour mark, with Jim O'Brien playing the England Under-18 international through. Armstrong received the ball before slotting it expertly into the net. The youngster did not grab his second goal until the 61st minute, but when he did he flicked a magnificent cross from John Fleck across the goalkeeper and over the line.
