Newcastle Loan Report: Armstrong Bags A Brace And Woodman Earns A Start

1. Sammy Ameobi (Cardiff City)

Somewhat surprisingly, Sammy Ameobi could also only make his Cardiff City debut off the bench as the Bluebirds drew their Championship opener with Fulham 1-1, despite it being suggested that the 23-year-old would be used as a No 10 in south Wales this season. Matt Smith put the visitors ahead in the 47th minute and Cardiff boss Russell Slade responded by bringing on Ameobi for Alex Revell just after the hour mark. Although Ameobi made a few mazy runs, he was unable to find the breakthrough, with the leveller instead coming from fellow substitute Craig Noone in the 86th minute. Ameobi will hope to get greater gametime as the season progresses. For all the latest NUFC News, Views and Transfers make sure to follow WhatCulture.com/NUFC on Twitter and Facebook.
