Newcastle Premier League Managers Ranked By Win Percentage

2. Nigel Pearson - 33.33%

Newcastle United Caretaker Manager: May 6th 2007-May 15th 2007 and January 9th 2008-January 16th 2008 Games In Charge: 3 Won: 1 Drew: 1 Lost: 1 Win Percentage: 33.33% Nigel Pearson may be labelling journalists as ostriches and pretending to strangle opposition players on the touchline now, but he was once on both Glenn Roeder and then Sam Allardyce's backroom staff. Following Roeder's resignation in May 2007, Pearson took temporary charge of the Magpies for their final match of the season at Watford, securing a 1-1 draw. However, it was his second period in charge that was far-more eventful. First of all, following Sam Allardyce's sacking, Pearson took the Magpies to Old Trafford where a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick helped Manchester United thrash Newcastle 6-0. Fortunately, Pearson did finally record a victory as Magpies caretaker boss in the FA Cup third-round replay against Stoke City at St James' Park the following week. Newcastle claimed a 4-1 victory, with the incoming Kevin Keegan watching on in the stands. Pearson therefore enjoyed a 33.33% win ratio as caretaker manager over his two spells in charge of the Magpies.
