Clearly not the same as results, because Newcastle have been good in games and got nothing (the opener against Man City), and poor in others and got something (the possession ratings in the last three games suggests a team not willing to play with the ball). Rather than full performances, Newcastle's successes so far have been reliant on either brilliant individual performances, mistakes by the opposition or flashes of genius. Team performances over 90 minutes - as we saw in the Man City game - have been few and far between, aside from in the quest to retain possession in earlier games this year. Things are now beginning to look up, with the team pulling more together, and player roles working better in harmony. Rating: 6/10
