Newcastle Transfer News: Remy Cabella Agrees To Join In The Summer?

Newcastle United have agreed a deal to sign Montpellier midfielder Remy Cabella in the summer, according to the Daily Mail. Montpellier chairman Laurent Nicollin confirmed Cabella will leave the French club at some point after June this year, stating:
"We have an agreement with the leaders of Newcastle that I will not reveal. But it does not include a departure for Remy before June."
It had previously been hoped the 23-year-old would make the move to St James' Park this month, with the player's father suggesting a winter transfer could be on the cards. Hector Cabella had been quoted by Actuafoot.fr saying:
"Yes we are negotiating for Rémy - and yes he will join Newcastle this winter."
However, it now seems as though Magpies manager Alan Pardew will have to wait until the end of the season before finally getting his man. Sensationally, Cebella will become the 13th Frenchman to join the north east club, joining the likes of Moussa Sissoko, Yoan Gouffran, Hatem Ben Arfa and Yohan Cabaye. Cabaye has been tipped to leave Newcastle this month, and Pardew has admitted he is "nervous" about his star man's future as the January transfer window enters its final weeks. French champions Paris Saint-Germain are thought to be interested in Cabaye and though no bid has been received, one is expected. The former Lille midfielder was linked with a move to Arsenal last summer and went on strike when a £10 million bid was rejected.
