Club: Lille By rights, Newcastle's scouting team should know all about Kjaer: he's based in Lille and was a big part of the reason his side only conceded 26 goals all season last year. This term Lille are making hard work of the league, sitting in 14th, but they've conceded just 12 times so far, making them the most frugal team outside of the top 6 (and better than Bordeaux in fourth, who've leaked 15 goals). The 25-year-old has already targeted a move to England, and while Man Utd and Chelsea have been linked in the past, he admitted that his family are Liverpool fans, but that he'd consider only the right move for his career. He could be the next Sami Hyypia, and Newcastle should use their links to Lille to steal a march on any rivals for his attention who might be compelled to try and sign him in the summer.
