Having scored twenty seven goals in sixty eight appearances, French forward Loic Remy has caught the eye of the Newcastle officials who believe he could be the man to replicate the form shown by Demba Ba. It has been reported heavily in the past few weeks that Newcastle are willing to pay up to £10 million for the 25 year old player but the huge difference of valuation could prove to be a stumbling block for both clubs.

Should such deal go through, Rémy would join Cabaye, Marveaux, Ben Arfa and others in a group of recent French signings. He is also known to be adept at playing in a wide striker's role, something which his pace could terrify defenders and allow Newcastle to revert back to 4-3-3, with Papiss Cisse moving back to his most central forward role and Hatem Ben Arfa playing on the right wing.
