Newcastle have been linked with Remy Cabella for much of the winter window but have thus far been frustrated in their attempts to sign the Montpellier midfielder. The French club's outspoken and controversial president recently announced it would take a Gareth Bale-sized bid to tempt his side into selling but the player's father is more optimistic. Hector believes his son will complete his move to Newcastle this month and is quoted by Actuafoot as saying:
Yes we are negotiating for Remy and yes he will join Newcastle this winter.
Despite these words of assurance, the clock is very rapidly running down in the transfer window and there is precious little time for the Magpies to push the deal through. It will be interesting to say the least to watch the next few hours and see if any of these moves pan out before the winter window slams firmly shut until the summer.
