Newcastle Transfers: 5 Deals Pardew Must Make To Avoid Relegation

2. Loic Remy

Newcastle's reliance on Demba Ba has been hard to miss this season, the Senegalese striker has bagged half of their goals. With January looming many people are resigned to him departing, the latest rumours stating he is on his way to Chelsea. This makes replacing Ba's goals a priority for Newcastle and the man who could do this is Loic Remy. Newcastle are understood to have already talked to Marseille and the players representatives. Remy has many strengths which could see him be a vital addition at Newcastle. For a start Remy is hugely versatile. He can play as a main striker, in behind the striker and on either wing. With Newcastle often liking to operate in a 4-3-3 and with creativity issue this could be a huge plus with him able to play in a lot of attacking regions. Remy is also a very strong and quick player, this means that he should have little issue adapting to the physical side of the Premier League. The key one though is that Remy knows where the net is, he bagged 12 goals in 29 games last season, a reasonable return. With him currently out of favour at his current club Marseille will be wanting to off load so once more Newcastle could take advantage.
