Newcastle are said to be one of five English sides to be interested in Senegalese international Modou Sougou, along with Aston Villa, Swansea, Bolton and Norwich. The winger impressed for Romanian side FC Cluj in the Champions League Group Stages toward the end of last year, when they were paired in the same group as Manchester United and Turkish side Galatasaray. Sougou scored against the latter side to help give his team a respectable tally of 10 points, but they failed to qualify for the knock out round of the competition on goal difference.
