Newcastle Transfers: 5 Reasons Pardew MUST Get Rid Of Papiss Cisse

5. Moussa Sissoko

Last season, French midfielder Moussa Sissoko was at times unfairly criticised for his lack of a final product to match his adventurous forward play, and as a result Alan Pardew was openly criticised for choosing to play the former Bordeaux man out wide rather than in central midfield. But no matter how many fans insist that Sissoko would be better in his "favoured" central berth, the Frenchman was actually a success story last term. Or he would have been if Newcastle had any strikers capable of hitting the back of the net that is. In the Premier League last year, only four players - Nasri, Eden Hazard, Luis Suarez and David Silva - bested Sissoko in the creativity stakes: the powerful Frenchman managed a massive 77 chances created, but only 6 of those translated as assists, because of the wayward finishing of his team-mates, including Papiss Cisse, who managed just 51% shooting accuracy (which isn't really a fair reflection based on the inadequacy of some of the shots he did manage on target. Sissoko was made to look bad last year by under-performing finishers, and if Newcastle want to keep him happy, and more importantly get the fans to realise his importance, they need to get rid of the elements that held his stats back.
