Newcastle Transfers: 5 Reasons Pardew MUST Go Back In For Remy

His Liverpool deal is off thanks to injury, but Newcastle should still go back in for the Frenchman.

The news has just hit that Loic Remy has dramatically failed at the last hurdle to complete his widely expected deal to after issues were apparently turned up in his medical after the striker flew out to America to join up with his prospective new team-mates. Details are somewhat sketchy at this early stage, but the French World Cup star headed back home to England to rejoin QPR with his future now very much uncertain, and question marks hanging over his saleability. Liverpool had been the front-runners for his signature ever since the £75m departure of Luis Suarez, and Arsenal have already pulled out of negotiations after Remy's £80,000 a week wage demands, so it remains to be seen whether the striker still has any other Champions League suitors who will overlook his injury to take advantage of his lower price. And indeed it remains uncertain whether QPR will actually want to keep the player at the club knowing that he has an injury serious enough to scupper a deal away from the club. With that context in mind, the stage is set for Newcastle - a club with previous in this sort of situation - to rekindle their interest in the striker and try to bring him to the North East once more. Injured or not, Remy makes perfect sense for Newcastle, and if Mike Ashley and his directors need further proof than last season, they need look no further...
